Since election onto Wollondilly Council Benn Banasik has held a number of positions on committees including Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils (MACROC) board of director member. Banasik has criticised the ALP publically in Council meetings over Appin’s postcode, lack of sewerage connection availability for residents in Bargo, the proposed closing of Bargo tip, and the approval of the AGL Power Station at Appin.
Benn Banasik partnered with Liberal Councillor from neighboring Council Campbelltown, Jai Rowell, in November 2008 controversially calling for local ALP member of Wollondilly Phil Costa to resign.
