Below Jupiter is an indie rock band from Cleveland, Ohio (USA). Most of the band's songs feature piano. Below Jupiter was founded in early 2006, when Joshua Emmet (vocals/piano) met Chris Russo (drums). The band played its first show in January 2007, at The Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. On December 18, 2007, the band self-released their debut album entitled Step Into Home (Act I). In late March 2008, Below Jupiter went 3-piece with the addition of bassist, Matt Wanous. In June 2009, the band released its second album, Step Into Home (Act II.) In 2010, Below Jupiter officially became Joshua Emmet's solo project, however, both Chris Russo and Matt Wanous still record and occasionally perform with Joshua Emmet. On January 18, 2012, Below Jupiter released their third album, Sonorous Dithyrambs. Within two months of its initial release, Step Into Home (Act I) was reviewed in The Cleveland Free Times, Scene Magazine, and The Akron Beacon Journal. The band has received airplay on various radio stations such as WAIF in Cincinnati, Ohio, 92.3 in Cleveland, Ohio and 98.9 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Below Jupiter's singer/songwriter Joshua Emmet is author of Constitution of the Individual, a document which provides a path for individuals to become their own sovereign in the eyes of the law. Joshua Emmet is also author of Celestial Kings and Queens, a book on the subjects of philosophy, art and political science. On January 18, 2012, an event called "Joshua Emmet's Artistic Trinity" was held at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio. On this day, Joshua Emmet released Below Jupiter's album, Sonorous Dithyrambs; the document, the Constitution of the Individual; and the book, Celestial Kings and Queens.
