Be Safe is a song by Wakefield rock band The Cribs. It is Track 10 on their third album Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever. It features spoken word lyrics from Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo, who was at one point rumoured to have produced their album. The song is similar in style to Popular by Nada Surf, We Don't Need Nobody Else by Whipping Boy or Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies, and "The Approaching Curve by , featuring a spoken word verse followed by a heavy musical verse. At the end of the song the band can be heard discussing the recording. Ryan Jarman proclaims "Yeah.. mine were alright, It weren't my best one, but who cares?", to which Lee replies "That's the spirit". - The song was featured in the 2008 film, "Never Back Down" In The Cribs 2009 tour and throughout 2010, a visual recording of Lee Ranaldo speaking the lyrics from the song is projected on the back of the stage whilst The Cribs play the music on stage.
