Barry Beck is an entrepreneur, co-founder and former COO of Bluemercury, a luxury beauty and retail spa chain headquartered in Washington, DC. Beck and his wife Marla Beck co-founded Bluemercury in 1999 as an e-commerce company. It now has more than 200 stores in the United States. Education Beck received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1990. Career Beck founded the company as a website with a $1 million investment from AOL executives Steve Case and Ted Leonsis as well as The Carlyle Group. Beck opened the first physical store on M Street in Georgetown, Washington, DC, in 1999. In 2015, Macy's purchased Bluemercury for $210 million. Barry Beck resigned his position on 20 September 2019.
