Shoe City

Shoe City was originally founded as Eileen's Shoe Company in on May 2nd, 1949 on East Monument Street in Baltimore, MD. Over the course of being in business for 60 years the company name would transition to the brand naming "Shoe City". Starting from one store in downtown Baltimore, the newly branded company would grow to 28 store locations in the Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia area in both Mall and strip-store areas.
Shoe City is a family driven company that specializes in urban footwear and apparel for Men, Women, and Kids. Offering such major label brands and smaller independent labels in Footwear, Apparel, and Accessories. Shoe City is one of the largest independent urban retailers in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Community Involvement
Each year Shoe City partners with local radio stations to award college scholarships to deserving high school seniors throughout the Baltimore, Washington D.C., Richmond and Norfolk areas. The scholarships are awarded to students based on academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. Scholarship awards can be used at degree-granting, non-profit, four-year colleges and universities in the United States that participate in the Federal Student Aid Programs (Title IV). Special requests for scholarships to attend community colleges will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.Scholarships are paid directly to the educational institution and cover direct educational expenses charged to the student by the college or university.
They make a yearly contribution of Turkey's and other foods and canned goods to the Maryland chapter of The Children's Mission Inc. as well contributing to such other charity events as "Kicks for Kids" and sign-up events for the Girl Scouts of America. Shoe City has been involved as well with Baltimore "For Sister Only" and "Family First" events.
