Barrier Islands Gazette (http://www.barrierislandsgazette.com/) is a community newspaper published twice per month in Treasure Island, Fla. Circulation is 30,000. The publication is a source of news, information and events taking place in the beach communities of Pinellas County from St. Pete Beach to Clearwater Beach and all points in between. The newspaper debuted in April 2008. The Barrier Islands Gazette is owned by St. Petersburg businessmen Bill Edwards. Don Cummings serves as director. Bill Stone is the editor. The Barrier Islands Gazette uses reporters who work and live in the local communities. Such an approach lends the publication an intimate reporting style often absent from larger daily newspapers. The publication is also known for its Homes and Gardens insert in each issue.
