Select. Barra Brava F.C. Premier participates in the 1st Division of the Washington International Soccer League (WISL), while Select currently play in the WISL 3rd Division.
History
Barra Brava F.C. was founded in 2008 by members of D.C. United
supporters’ group, La Barra Brava, who shared an interest in creating
a high level soccer club dedicated to becoming a nationally
competitive and recognized amateur club. Since its inception, Barra
Brava F.C. has placed a high value on recruiting and retaining former
college and professional level players interested in competing at the
highest levels of United States amateur soccer. In order to
accommodate tremendous local interest in being part of this unique
club, Barra Brava F.C. Select was added to the club in the fall of 2009.
The two teams of Barra Brava F.C. have experienced tremendous early
success as both have quickly risen through the ranks of the Washington
International Soccer League. Barra Brava F.C. Premier, in particular,
has seen substantial on-the-field success, capturing 2 WISL
Championships, 2 Supporters’ Charity Shields, and numerous indoor
league championships.
