Bangor University Hockey Club

Bangor University Hockey Club (mens section) (BUHC) is a hockey club. It consists of 3 competitive men's teams (1st & 2nd XI play in the Kukri North West Hockey League 2 & 7 South respectively. The 3rd XI play in the Glyndwr University North Wales Hockey League Division 1). The club currently consists of over 50 members, and play their home games at Maes Glas Sports Centre, Bangor, on a Hybrid (TigerTurf) Astroturf.
Rivals
Bangor's fiercest rival is Aberystwyth University. Varsity matches between the first and second teams are played annually.
1st XI
2011/2012
The 1st XI competed in the Kukri North West Division 2, after being promoted the squad thought the would be in a relegation battle yet looked like promotion for a fair amount of the season. The team eventually finished in 5th place. In the BUCS league 3A the team fared much better winning the league with 9 wins and 1 draw. The team also competed in 2 cup competitions the North Wales Premier Cup where we got to the Quarter-Finals and the BUCS Northern Conference Cup in which we were stopped by Finalists(game held on the 21st) MMU Cheshire in the Quarter-Finals.<ref name="North Wales Premier Cup and the BUCS Northern Conference Cup"/>
2010/2011
The 1st XI competed in the Kukri North West Division 3.<ref name="Kukri North West Division 3 "/> Bangor University Mens 1st XI also compete in the BUCS North West Division 3A<ref name="BUCS North West Division 3"/> where the club solely competes against other university sides. The team also competed in 2 cup competitions the North Wales Premier Cup where we got to the Semi-Finals and the BUCS Northern Conference Cup in which we were stopped by Semi-Finalists MMU Cheshire.<ref name="North Wales Premier Cup and the BUCS Northern Conference Cup"/>
2nd XI & 3rd XI
2010/2011
After the huge success of the 2nd team and the large intake of members that formed a stable 3rd XI to continue in the Glyndwr University North Wales Hockey League, the club decided to move the 2nd XI into the Kukri North West Divisions.<ref name="Kukri North West Division 3 "/> The 2nd XI have shown that their superiority to the restof the teams at the half way point; they've accumulated 31 points from a possible 33 scoring 93 and conceding 9! The 3rd XI are currently performing very well in the North Wales League and sit in the top half of the table.
2011/2012
The 2nd XI won the division 9 south, http://www.englandhockey.co.uk/fl/comps/cv.asp?d=24272 which means it is back to back promotions for the team who has shown up both of the last divisions.
The BUHC 3rd XI will be competing for the foreseeable future in the North Wales Premiership, Glyndwr University North Wales Mens Hockey League
