Bacon on The Simpsons

Bacon has appeared often on the TV series The Simpsons. The importance of bacon on the popular series has led, for instance, to recognition by the Royal Bacon Society, which compiled a list of the "Top 10 Bacon Quotes from Homer Simpson." Even conservative commentator Jonah Goldberg used Homer and his well-known love of Bacon in metaphor.
In the episode "Homer's Triple Bypass" from season 4, after Marge serves Homer oatmeal for breakfast, Homer sarcastically says, "Ooh, oatmeal, what a delightful treat!" and adds, "Aw, there's a bug in it." Marge corrects him by saying, "No there isn't." Then Homer says, "Trust me," and starts eating bacon. Referring to the bacon that Homer is eating, Bart says, "Dad, there's a bug on that." Homer says, "Meh," and continues eating the bacon.
In the episode "I Love Lisa" from season 4, on Valentine's Day, Marge serves Homer a breakfast of bacon and eggs, which she had arranged to spell out "I love you." As she places the plate of food in front of him, she lovingly states, "And this is for my huggy-bug, in honor of this special day." Homer then thinks to himself, "Special day!? Oh, what have I forgot now? Now don't panic. Is it Bacon Day? No, that's crazy-talk." As Homer sees that Marge's smile is starting to fade, he thinks, "She's getting impatient! Take a stab at it!" Then he says out loud out, "Happy... Valentine's Day..." Marge then says, "Aw, thank you, dear." Homer then happily shouts, "Woo-hoo!"

In the season 7 episode "Lisa the Vegetarian," after Lisa tells Homer that she has become a vegetarian, Homer asks, "Lisa honey, are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?" Lisa answers, "No." Then Homer asks, Ham?" and Lisa answers, "No." Homer then asks, "Pork chops?" to which Lisa responds with, "Dad! Those all come from the same animal!" Homer responds by sarcastically saying, "Yeah, right Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal."
