B-places

b-places is a web page developed by bluepill Group, it was launched on June 19, 2007.
The b-places web site its a Second Life community about discovering new and exciting locations. b-places has more than 350,000 Residents votes and 800 quality verified Hotspots the largest Second Life location directory and provides week by week the best and most interesting SL locations.
The web site it's organized into tabs. In each tab it's possible to perform a search in order to find what you are looking for in Second Life.
Tabs
The web site is organized into tabs:
* NEW - Find there every week NEW interesting places in Second Life. The places are ranked according to Second Life Residents votes.
* POPULAR - Find there the most POPULAR interesting places in Second Life. The places are ranked according to Second Life Residents votes received in the last 3 months.
* TOP - Find there the TOP Second Life places! Places are ranked according to the overall Second Life Residents votes received.
* CATEGORIES - Find there your favorite Second Life places by exploring the different categories.
* SPONSORED - Find there SPONSORED locations which supports and sponsored the b-places web site.
* OPEN - Find here all OPEN b-places ranked according to the b-traffic received in the last 3 months. The b-traffic displayed on the OPEN location is based on an algorithm which takes in consideration the visits received by the location among others variables.
The search works by chosen the tab that you want to perform your search and type in what you are looking for.
b-places HUD (Head-up display)
A "HUD" or "Head-up display" is a special attachment that you wear on your avatar. The HUD will maintain a fixed position on your screen while you wear it. You can see the HUD only that way.
When you wear the HUD you can use 5 functionalities that will bring you a new Second Life travel experience!
* b-places - Every week new suggestions of Second Life b-places / HotSpots. By clicking on the b-place / HotSpot link on your HUD, it will teleport the avatar to this location.
* Top 20 - The 20 best resident rated b-places. It is updated every 60 seconds. By clicking on the link on your HUD, it will teleport the avatar to the one of 20 best locations.
* b-boost - Allows you to fly faster and higher! The user can select between 3 different speeds, the user can see the exact flight altitude and exact flying speed. B-boost also permits the avatar to hover, so stay in the air without losing altitude.
* History - Goes back to the places which the avatar has been recently. This provides the user with an historical overview list of the last 20 locations that he has teleported his avatar to. By clicking on the link on your HUD and teleporting the avatar to location chosen.
* Web - By clicking on this options of the HUD it takes you to the b-places web site.
* Minimize - Minimizing the HUD to provides a full screen view of Second Life. To minimize simply click on the minimize button.
* Help - There you will receive a note card that will explain you the most important functionalities of the HUD, the boxes and the b-places web site.
* Back button - Takes the avatar back to the last place visited by clicking on the button.
To obtain such a HUD, you can ask one to somebody who already has one, or you can get them from any b-places Box. If you can't find a Box, just visit one of our top locations and you will find them there.
