AutoTRAX EDA

Autotrax EDA is an electronic design automation software made by Kovac Software with a download base of over 60,000 people, and is used in many educational institutions due to a free educational licence being available. Autotrax supports schematic and PCB design as well as SPICE simulation.
It has an in-built hierarchical project manager for both top-down and bottom-up design and reuse design components and sub-systems.
Starting in the Schematic Capture mode, parts are dragged onto design sheets the terminals are connected together using wires, buses and off-page connectors.
The integrated Part Creator can be used to create parts..
AutoTRAX will simulate circuits using virtual instruments such as oscilloscopes and signal generators. Multiple analyses can be produced using the integral industry standard SPICE 3f5 simulator.
The PCB Designer will take the hierarchical design and place the components, with or without user assistance. AutoTRAX will either autoroute the board or users can use a combination of automatic and manual routing to quickly and reliably complete all electrical wiring.
Finally users can produce all Computer Aided Manufacturing files needed to produce the board, drill the holes, cut its profile, order parts using the Bill Of Materials, and place the parts using the pick and place files. These files can be place together and forwarded to board manufacturers, electronically via email.
AutoTRAX EDA is owned by Ilija Kovacevic, the author of the software. Currently AutoTRAX EDA is available on Microsoft Windows platforms. The User group currently has 2,500 members.
The name AutoTRAX is the US trademark of Ilija Kovacevic, author of AutoTRAX EDA - Registration Number 2469410.
