Autostrad () meaning The high way. Is a Jordanian world-rock-reggae-funk band founded in 2007 by Yazan Al-Rousan, lead singer and guitarist, shortly after the release of his big hit solo album Telfizion in 2006. Known for their unique musical style inspired by Jordanian culture, and taking the common Jordanian term Agwa no3, which is a colloquial for the best kind as their band's motto, the band have gained a wide fan base among the Jordanian and regional youth. Autostrad lyrics are inspired from the Jordanian contemporary daily life. The band aims to somehow ‘revolutionize’ current-day Arab music by incorporating various elements of Rock, Jazz, and even a hint of electronic music in the predominantly “mono-styled” Arab music world.
