Aurox

Aurox is a young Polish distribution based Fedora Core (before Red Hat), with an emphasis on multimedia, graphics, localization and education. This distro is localized to the majority of European languages, including Czech. The first Aurox version (8.0) was developed in 2002 and it worked on Red Hat 8.0. Aurox uses the RPM packet system and it holds compatibility with Fedora Core.

Current Stage
As of October 30, 2006 the project has been suspeneded without giving a public announcement mentioning the reason. Click here to view the post on the official site (unfortunately the information has been posted in Polish and is not available in English).

The latest release of the distribution bears the number 12.0. After this release this distro has been discontinued.

According to this page, the Aurox brand has been sold to the company Coba Solutions. The distribution will have a commercial as well as a non-commercial version.

The original distribution's development seems to continue renamed to Jazz Linux. See page: project page
