Audrey Juma

Audrey Juma is the director of the Notre Dame Institute of Education in Karachi, Pakistan.
She has taught at , St. Patrick's Girls School, St. Pius X Minor Seminary, St. Mary's Urdu High School and .
In 2001, she was a Senior Instructor at the Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED). She has been coordinator of the Early Childhood Programme at the Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development since 2003 when the Certificate in Education: Early Childhood Education and Development Programme commenced.
She has also taught on the Social Studies Specialization course at the MEd level. She has worked with the Human Development Programme at the Aga Khan University in co-facilitating the early childhood education segment of the Human Development graduate seminars and on the curriculum advisory committee to plan the advanced diploma programme in Early Childhood Education. She has also been involved in material development and curricular planning. She is an expert on Early Childhood education.
In 2007, she was awarded a United States Agency for International Development( USAID) grant for the evaluation of some Early Childhood Education programs in Pakistan.
In March 2014, she was the keynote speaker at the Policy Dialogue Gender Equity in Schools Conference organised by the British Council, Karachi.
Qualifications
She has MEd (Leadership and Management) and MA (General History) degrees from Karachi University, and a MEd (Primary Education) from the Australian Catholic University. From 2008 - 2011 she worked on a Doctor of Education degree at the University of Melbourne. She received her degree in 2014. Her doctorate is in the area of early childhood and gender.
