Attentio provides tools for social media monitoring in B2B markets. It aggregates online news and social media from across the globe, and uses proprietary algorithmic analysis, combined with industry analyst expertise, to identify online topics and sentiments about brand, companies and products. History Attentio was founded in 2004 by Per Siljubergsåsen, a European internet serial entrepreneur and Simon McDermott. The founders met at the Vlerick Leuven Gent MBA program (2002-2003) in Belgium. The company received multiple awards including a Red Herring Top 100 nomination (2007), a Brussels Start-Up award and Best Demo Award at the 2009 AAAI Conference on Weblogs and Social Media. In 2010, Attentio acquired market research technology company 365Research. In April 2012, Attentio was acquired by the Progressive Media Group. Products Attentio offers a web-based information visualization product for monitoring and analysing media activity, as well as analyst reports for individual brands and industry sectors. The Attentio platform is used as an integral part of the Progressive Media Group's B2B business information and media products, and as a tool to support consulting services.
