Atlantic Coast Media Group (ACMG) is the parent company of luxury skincare and hair care brands Hydroxatone, Keranique, Luminique and D.N.A. by Hydroxatone. It is located in the Newport, Jersey City section of Jersey City, New Jersey. History ACMG was founded in an attic in Richmond, Virginia by Thomas Shipley and Andrew Surwilo in 2005 to provide women with efficacious beauty products based in real science. The principals started with one product, AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex under the brand name Hydroxatone, which they marketed directly to consumers using television, radio and print media. In 2006, the company moved to Hoboken, New Jersey and began to expand its product line with Hydrolyze Advanced Under Eye Formula. The Keranique line of hair-care solutions for women with thinning hair was introduced as its own brand in 2009. ACMG moved to its current Jersey City headquarters in February 2010, marking the occasion with a gala ribbon-cutting event later that year. The company had a total of 310 employees as of September 2010. Also in 2010, ACMG debuted its Hydroxatone brand in Ulta stores nationwide along with online retailers, the company’s first foray into the retail channel. A 3rd brand, D.N.A. by Hydroxatone , was launched in late 2010. D.N.A. is a super-luxury brand with a unique marine botanical formula. Atlantic Coast Media Group’s Hydroxatone brand was featured in its debut on the HSN television network on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2011. 5 of 7 products sold-out during the debut. Hydroxatone returned to HSN in April 2011. ACMG added a 4th brand to its suite in 2011: the Luminique brand of prestige anti-aging skincare featuring technology derived from the marine stem cells.
