Apparel Media Group

Apparel Media Group is a privately held company headquartered in Chicago. The company helps national and local companies sponsor local consumer groups such as school, college and professional clubs, youth and adult sports teams, and not-for-profits. Apparel Media Group was founded in Chicago in 2009 as a venture-backed startup and has developed two primary sponsorship platforms, IMPACT and Pear.
History
Apparel Media Group was launched in 2009 in Chicago by three Indiana University alumni Jared Golden, Gerry Hays and Amish Tolia. It was founded as a venture backed startup and raised almost $2 million in funding by 2011. Founders Golden and Tolia first entered the custom apparel industry while students at Indiana University in October 2005 with Campus Threadz, a custom apparel company targeted toward students.
Services
Apparel Media Group has developed two primary platforms, a B2B sponsorship platform called IMPACT and Pear, which is a B2C sponsorship platform.
IMPACT is a proprietary network of American screen printers. Brands such as Unilever, State Farm, Gatorade and Verizon Wireless have utilized Apparel Media Group's IMPACT platform to sponsor local groups throughout the US. To sponsor a group through IMPACT, brands underwrite the cost of products that a group needs and in exchange, the sponsor's branding is printed on the goods. Typically these goods are custom jerseys or t-shirts. Consumers have the right to reject or accept the brand’s sponsorship.
Pear is Apparel Media Group's consumer facing sponsorship service. It is a website where consumer groups can seek and earn sponsorship from local businesses and national brands. Apparel Media Group announced the Beta Launch of Pear in October 2012. The initial beta launch of Pear was limited to the greater Chicago area. Pear sponsors provide awards such as free catering, goods, services as well as custom apparel.
