Ashfall warning

An Ashfall Warning means that a volcano undergoing a major eruption is creating the likelihood of significant impact on the public (with higher risk to the health of people with respiratory illnesses) and maritime activity due to ashfall accumulation forecast to be greater than or equal to 0.25 inches (6.4 mm), significant debris, lava, or lahar flows.

An Ashfall Warning means that a volcano undergoing a major eruption
is creating the likelihood of significant impact on the public (with higher
risk to the health of people with respiratory illnesses) and maritime activity
due to ashfall accumulation forecast to be greater than or equal to 0.25 inches
(6.4 mm), significant debris, lava, or lahar flows.
Vessels should consider remaining in port or avoiding the warning area.
Those with respiratory sensitivities should take extra precautions to
minimize exposure. Protect electronics and cover air intakes. Remove
ash from surfaces with water if possible, to prevent excessive
accumulation.
