Arrowstar aka ScrappyBoy (born Aaron Butts) is a talented upcoming Canadian music producer. Biography "Arrowstar" also known as "ScrappyBoy" is a Canadian hip-hop producer currently living in Los Angeles, California who is currently attending University at California Institute of Arts. Arrowstar began his career producing throughout Canada and is most recognized for his synth bass/unique piano riffs. After not receiving the proper amount of recognition Arrowstar moved to Los Angeles for a summer. Arrowstar initially failed to gain exposure, losing most of his savings and while packing up and moving back to Canada, Arrowstar was recognized by upcoming R&B star Akon. Akon along with Rick Ross sat down in studio with Arrowstar eventually producing the song "Cross That Line" which featured on Rick Ross's Album Port of Miami. The song received worldwide exposure and success while becoming the lead-in single for Akon's tour. After the success of Cross That Line, Arrowstar signed to Akon's newly found label Konvict Muzik. It seemed as though Arrowstar dropped out of the music production scene as even though signed as a producer he was not active. It was rumoured that this was due to problems between Arrowstar and Akon regarding Arrowstar's future and the inability to agree on song rights. Arrowstar was later dropped from Konvict Muzik and shortly thereafter signed to Nappy Boy Digital, a new record label founded by T-Pain which would focus on digital music distribution and is an imprint of Konvict Muzik. Through this new adventure Arrowstar began to expand his knowledge while meeting many successful producers in the industry. 2008 proved to be a very successful year for the upcoming producer who worked closely with T-Pain creating singles such as Dream Girl - Tay Dizm Feat. Akon, Flight School - Kanye West Feat. T-Pain, GLC. Arrowstar claimed that he "didn't want to create lame mainstream beats" and began working on his own co-producing singles such as, Welcome to the World - Kevin Rudolf Feat. Rick Ross, Jump - Flo Rida Feat. Nelly Furtado. Jump feauture a unique synth bass. The song is currently being used to promote the Disney film G-Force, and an edited version has been added to Radio Disney's playlist. Because of Arrowstar's arrogance and an unfit desire to follow his contract Arrowstar was released from his Nappy Boy Digital and soon thereafter the release of the single "Flight School" signed with Kanye West and G.O.O.D Music. A label created by Kanye West which allows for artists creativity. With Kanye's financial backing Arrowstar is able to "be himself" producing beats which he feels is ahead of their time. Recently claiming that he showed a sample song to Swizz Beats, which Swiss took in a different direction creating the lead single "I Can Transform Ya" by Chris Brown Feat. Lil Wayne. Arrowstar since has produced the song "Could You Be The Reason", which became "We Don't Care" and featured on Akon's new album Freedom. He has also worked with T-Pain producing Take Your Shirt Off, and remixing Shakira's single "She Wolf" which featured T-Pain on a verse. Production
