Arin Hanson

Arin Hanson is an American animator and voice actor also commonly known as Egoraptor, probably most famous for his Flash animation shorts on Newgrounds that parody video games commonly known as the Awesome series. He is also known as the co-host of the video-game web comedy series Game Grumps and as a contestant on the Sony reality program The Tester season three. His comedy and animation style, widely-mimicked on Newgrounds, is notable for it's heavy profanity, exaggerated gesture, and stumbling language.
Newgrounds
Hanson first found internet fame in 2006 when he released the web short Metal Gear Awesome, a fast paced parody of the espionage video-game Metal Gear Solid . The video, that summarizes in a frenetic, profanity-laden manner the plot of the video-game had Hanson both animating and playing the voice of Solid Snake, in a parody of the voice-work of actor David Hayter. The short became incredibly popular, and associated with the American Metal Gear fan-base, even allegedly shown in the voice acting studio of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This led to a long series of shorts parodying various video games from Pokemon to Halo: Reach, and was eventually adapted by Hanson for a series of shorts for MTV's "The G-Hole" video game show.
Due to the popularity of the "Awesome" series, Hanson's style has been widely mimicked by Newgrounds animators, even leading many to make their own "Awesome" shorts featuring the same style of humor and animation.
Hanson is a regular guest animator and voice-actor on other Newgrounds content creators' work, including artists like Chris O'Neil (Oney) and Kirbopher.
The Tester
In early 2012 Hanson participated as a contestant on the Sony produced video-game themed reality program The Tester . He was eliminated in the third episode, a choice Hanson alleges was likely a studio decision, possibly due to his irreverent behavior on the show.
Game Grumps
Based on an initial conversation to settle a video game based debate Hanson and YouTube video-game critic Jon Jafari collaborated on a series of YouTube shorts called "Game Grumps" which consisted of the two of them playing video games and having casual conversations. After announcing the launch on July 18, 2012 (playing Kirby: Super Star) the series grew enormously popular in a short period of time, the first episode getting 368,000 views within the first month of its release. Since, the series has increased in popularity, an episode based around Super Smash Brothers Brawl making it to YouTube's front page.
