Archangelati

Archangelati is a low key but growing modern movement amongst Traditional Catholics (or by technical definition Fundamentalists) in North America, specifically in the United States,Mexico, and England. The small group of individuals leading this so-called spiritual and evangelical crusade intend to protect and spread an understanding of the doctrine and scripture of the oldest Christian religion which came to be known as the Catholic Church soon after St. Ignatius of Antioch first used the term to describe the original Christian religion. Archangelati primarily seeks to increase and improve the public's understanding of Catholicism to all secular, skeptics, Protestants, Non-Catholics, and Roman Catholics alike. The Archangelati traditionalist movement informally began several years ago but has recently become an online movement as well. A simple search of the term "Archangelati" on any given online search engine will produce multiple blogs and pages of self-identified contributors to the movement.

The term itself "Archangelati" was derived partly out of reverence to the seven Archangels traditionally honored by both the Judaic and Catholic faiths. The seven Archangels Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Raguel, Remiel and Saraqael, are all named in the Book of Enoch,(several are also later mentioned elsewhere). The Book of Enoch is not included in modern Christian Bibles,
(some original scripture was lost with radical Protestant breaks from the Church and re-editing of the Bible by newly founded Protestant religions as well as the removal of the famed Dead Sea Scrolls)the Book of Enoch is, however, referenced in the Epistle of Jude .

Additionally, the term Archangelati was created as a mockery of the famed atheist secret society which was explicitly Anti-Catholic, the Illuminati (the latter group has recently regained public awareness following the controversial series "The DaVinci Code").

The Archangelati is still in its early stages of development but aspires to grow to a degree of global and Papal awareness so as to gain ecclesiastical support both spiritually and possibly financially. According to some rumors, it may grow to include a system of ranks and awards, similar to any other large organization whether it be spiritual or political.
