Archa Mehta is an Indian fashion costume designer, who has worked in the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu film industries. Career Archa Mehta grew up in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and studied fashion designing at Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology. She later moved to pursue a master's degree in London, where she also worked at the London Fashion Week. After she returned to India, she apprenticed with designers Leepakshi Ellawadi and Maxima Basu before opting to work independently in the film industry. She began her career working on Hindi films, including on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's big-budget romantic drama Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013) starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, where Gujarati textiles, traditional crafts, tattoos, and jewellery were researched and utilised. During the period, she also worked on Monsoon Shootout (2013), a neo-noir action thriller film, produced by Anurag Kashyap. In the mid-2010s, she increased her work in the South Indian film industries, beginning with work for the entire cast in Puri Jagannadh's Heart Attack (2014) The success of the film prompted further work for Mehta in South India.
