Aptakisic Junior High School

Aptakisic Junior High School is part of Aptakisic-Tripp Community Consolidated School District 102 located on 1231 N. Weiland Road in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. It feeds into Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, suburbs of Chicago. The Volleyball teams won the championship 2 years in a row. They went undefeated in 2008 and won the championship. In 2015, the Scholastic Bowl team won state in an IESA tournament.
The school's colors are red and white, and until 2012 the mascot was the Indian, in honor of Chief Aptakisic. In April 2012, the school's mascot was changed to the Eagle. The school runs education and sports programs. The soccer team was undefeated in 2007. The facility operates as the chief middle school of School District 102, and houses the seventh and eighth grades; Meridian Middle School, also located in Buffalo Grove, feeds into it. Students who live in Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire and a small part of unincorporated Deerfield attend the school.

The school was built in the 1970s after the original Aptakisic-Tripp School was torn down. It served grades K-8, until 1979 when Pritchett School was built. By the late 1990s the school began only serving kids of grades 7 and 8, once the Tripp School was built.
In 2005, a 12-year-old-girl stabbed another student with a kitchen knife out of an act of revenge. The girl received a sentence of 5 years of extensive probation.
