AprivaPay

AprivaPay is a secure, mobile, downloadable browser-based credit card application, developed and published by Apriva, that conducts transactions by accessing a terminal site from a cell phone. It is a point of sale technology that was created in early 2010 for businesses that need the ability to accept credit card payments from a cellphone like traditional credit card processing terminals. The software requires a compatible smartphone, like iPhone, Android or Blackberry.
History
In July 2010, Apriva partnered with AT&T to provide small businesses the point-of-sale technologies to any of their supported, web-enabled mobile phones. By offering the mobile applications, AT&T is attempting to help small businesses create virtual storefronts in the field. Once a merchant accesses AprivaPay through a browser on a phone, the relevant transaction information is input through a secure proprietary gateway in real time.
In October 2010, Apriva announced the release of their wireless point of sale application for Google's Android operating system. AprivaPay is now certified and available through the online Android Market.
