AppalArts Magazine is a nonprofit magazine used to showcase original artwork by Appalachians. AppalArts was founded in October of 2013 under the leadership of Phillip Barnett and Danna Spears. AppalArts produces and annual print publication showcasing that years submitted artwork. The main site showcases all forms of submitted art including music, photography, performances, and writings. Most notable of these features is the Artist of the Month column, which features an a selected contributor based on their submissions and interaction with the staff and other artists.
