Anwar Ahmed Zai is a noted scholar, writer of Urdu literature; an educationist and orator from Karachi, Pakistan. He is currently the Chairman Board of Intermediate Education Karachi. He has also served as the founder Chairman of Board of Secondary and Intermediate Education, Mirpurkhas. Furthermore, he has also remained the Executive District Officer, Education Karachi, Director Schools Education, Additional Secretary Sindh, District Education Officer, Mirpurkhas and Karachi. He has written various books in Urdu language. Some of them are collection of short stories and some are travelogues. He has also authored various dramas and other programs for Radio Pakistan. He is also the patron-in-chief of a quarterly Urdu magazine, Ibarat, published under the umbrella of Idara-e-Anwar-e-Adab, Hyderabad, Sindh. (Born: September 18, 1944.
