Anubhav Pratap Singh

Prof. Anubhav Pratap Singh is a Canadian science researcher, currently at the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
He was appointed British Columbia's First Food and Beverage Innovation Professor in 2019 . In this position, Singh collaborates with local food processing industries to explore sustainable solutions for enhancing food quality and safety .
Currently, Singh serves as a senator to the Vancouver Senate of the University of British Columbia for the period 2020-2023 .
Singh has written more than 50 articles on food processing with more than 400 citations . Singh serves on the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports published by Nature Research .
Education
Singh received a Dual Degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in India in 2011. He continued on in 2015 to receive a PhD in Food Processing from McGill University under the supervision of Hosahalli Ramaswamy. Thereafter, he received the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship, administered by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, on "Development of Quadruple Fortified Salt (QFS) - A technology to produce Table Salt supplemented with iodine, iron, folic acid & Vitamin B12 to counter micronutrients deficiencies in vegetarians, children & women of reproductive age" , wherein he conducted his postdoctoral research at University of Toronto under the supervision of Levente Diosady during 2016-2017. Singh joined University of British Columbia in 2017 as an Assistant Professor of Food Processing. In 2019, Singh was appointed British Columbia's First Food and Beverage Innovation Professor to provide support and expertise to B.C. food processors by the BC Ministry of Agriculture.
