Antonio Cabral de Melo Alpoim was an South American military, encomendero of indians and landowner in the Río de la Plata. Biography The Captain Antonio Cabral de Melo Alpoim, born 1646 in Buenos Aires. He was descendant of the early settlers, son of Cristóbal Cabral de Melo Alpoim and Maria Carabajal de Salas. He married in 1671, with Leonor de Morales, daughter of Pedro Morales y Mercado and his wife María Manzanares y Aguilar. Antonio, like all the Alpoim Family were devoted to raising cattle since coming to Río de la Plata, unlike his ancestors he not was devoted to government activity.
