Antonia is a 3D character mesh rigged for use in Poser and DAZ Studio. Origin Not being satisfied with the usual commercial figures available at the time, Olaf Delgado-Friedrichs, under the nickname 'ODF', on 27 October 2008 asked the assistance of other Poser users in the Renderosity Poser forum to further develop a mesh model he had made. This was the start of a 30 month community effort, leading to a full fledged Poser figure. The process is logged in a (350+ pages!) discussion thread on Renderosity. Further development The figure was discussed during the public rollout of Poser 9 and PoserPro 2012 in September/October 2012 as an example of the new weight mapping feature. In October 2012 further developments to standardise the figure were started at the Poserplace forum. Availability Antonia is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License., and is available for free download. Versions After the official release on 11 February 2011 of Antonia 1.0 a revised version, Antonia 1.2, was released on 27 February 2011. The main reason for the update was to ensure compatibility with the clothing conversion tool Wardrobe Wizard. A few other minor changes were made. Versions and content made for Antonia 1.0 can be recognized in the presence of an actor named 'Hip2'. Content made for Antonia 1.0 can be converted into content for Antonia 1.2 by changing the names. : The 'hip2' actor must be renamed to 'hip' and the actor named 'hip' must be renamed to 'waist'. :In general, it should be very easy to update files using the old actor names: replace 'hip' with 'waist' everywhere in the file, and then replace 'waist2' with 'hip'. Be careful the file contains 'hip' or 'waist' as parts of longer words, though. For example, a brute-force replacement as described above would turn the word 'shipment' into 'swaistment'. →In addition to the normal resolution version a low resolution version is available for all three UV mappings (see below). Rigging Antonia is rigged like most Poser figures, using spherical fall-off and a large number of Joint Controlled Morphs. # Contrary to most Poser figures, the root node of the figure rigging is not the pelvis (usually named Hip) but the waist. This permits better bending of the thighs, but reduces compatibility of poses. This implements the 'second hip' as proposed by Phantom3D who also did the major part of the work on the rigging. # The feet have an extra body part in the foot: the 'instep'. This permits a more natural posing of the foot, but may cause incompatibility with certain helper applications like WalkDesigner. # The eye transformations have some face morphs slaved to them. On 1 October 2011 Diogenes published a beta version of Antonia with a rig based on weight mapping in the Renderosity thread. Further developments recorded at Poserplace. UV mapping There are three UV mappings for Antonia: * The original UV mapping by ODF. This mapping is used by the versions named AntoniaA. The mapping enables all body texture information on one bitmap. ::The relative scaling factors for the 'A' mapping are as follows: ::* 1 x for body and feet ::* 2 x for hands and skull ::* 4 x for the nails and everything on the face map ::* 4 x vertical and 10 x horizontal for the genitalia * The 'new mapping' by MikeJ. This mapping has a more conventional mapping of UV data of body and limb textures overlapping and generally require separate bitmaps for textures of body, arms and limbs. * A mapping made by DPHoadley to work with textures for the Victoria 3 figure from DAZ3D. Morphs # In the final release, a few body morphs were maintained for compatibility with early stages of the development. # The built-in face morphs cover expressions according the methods described by Jason Osipa # Additional face and body morphs can be found on the supporting content on the Antonia Freesite.
