Antje Thiele

Antje Thiele (b. 1979) is a German stage, television, and film actress based in Berlin. She performs in German-language and English-language productions.
Thiele appears in the upcoming Roland Emmerich film Anonymous as Lady de Vere, the wife of the protagonist Edward de Vere. On June 25, 2010 Thiele will also reprise her role as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet at the Die Boten theater for Theater in the Park in Berlin.
On screen, Thiele has appeared in documentaries, a television miniseries and a televison film, and a over dozen short films.
Among her various theatre credits, in 2008 Thiele performed the role of the American Commander in the international touring production of Waiting for Rain — based on Beckett's Waiting for Godot — an Iraqi-German cooperative venture in five languages which toured in Potsdam, Berlin, Iraq, and Kurdistan. In He, du Ché, she played Che Guevara's daughter Hildita at the Theater Neubrandenburg and at the Kulturhaus Weissensee in Berlin in 2008. Also in 2008, for the Bertolt Brecht festival at the Brecht-Haus in Berlin, she performed the role of Margarete Steffin in Willkommen und Abschied (Welcome and Farewell): lyrical dialogue between Margarete Steffin and Bertolt Brecht 1932-1939. During 2009, Thiele perfomed at the Volksbühne in three plays, all based in antiquity.
Thiele has worked twice with award-winning novelist, playwright, screenwriter, and director Nina Jäckle. She performed in her radio play With Suitcase, and as the lead in her short film The Furnished Room, both in 2009.
Thiele is also skilled as a television and radio journalist and presenter, and does various other voice work as well. She narrated the short film Beyond Climate Change (2009) produced for the German Federal Ministry for the Environment.
