Antigone is an online, open-access Classics journal dedicated to bringing the Ancient Greeks and Romans to a wider audience. It is "committed to sharing, in an intelligent and accessible form, the joys of ancient languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion, art and architecture". Its writers "seek to uphold and promote ideals that held sway thousands of years ago: open enquiry, robust debate and the unfettered exploration of ideas." Launched in March 2021, the site has published over 100 articles, exploring the worlds of Ancient Greece and Rome, and their legacies over the subsequent two millennia. The site, edited by a team of academics and students in Europe, North America and Australasia, Adrienne Mayor, Tom Holland, Catharine Edwards, David Konstan, Philomen Probert, Krystyna Bartol, Philip Hardie, Anton Bierl, Stephen Harrison, , Robert Knapp and Jerzy Danielewicz. On 1 April 2021, the website hosted an elaborate April Fools' prank about a newly discovered fragment of the poet Ovid, branding it the "New Naso". In July 2021, it helped produce a Latin version of the football song "Three Lions". It hosts literary and artistic competitions every three months, for which guest judges have included Mary Beard, Katharina Volk and Armand D'Angour.
