Anti-Americanism in the United States

Conservative commentators such as Bill O'Reilly believe there is a contingent of anti-Americanism in the United States. The film Redacted was accused of being anti-American; Sean Hannity claimed Sicko was a piece of "anti-American propaganda". Additionally, people who oppose the Iraq War and so-called "War on Terror" are the most comment victims of such accusations. In previous decades, the House Un-American Activities Committee and similar bodies formally persecuted such sentiment. Al Franken and others often mock such accusations by responding to any form of dissent with the question, "Why do you hate America so much?" Glenn Beck said on The O'Reilly Factor that everyone should get together and say that "You don't hate America, I don't hate America, why don't we get together and solve some problems?" This is not to say that there are not people in the United States who legitimately hate the country. This includes potential terrorists, people who are not in the country by choice, and many youth who want to move to Canada, Japan or Ireland. See Also
