Anthony Coffey

Anthony James Coffey (born July 10, 1967, in Boone, North Carolina, USA) is a professional artist and illustrator who currently lives and works in New York City. He is best known for the drawings of the Unofficial Beanie Baby Coloring Book (series of 4, published 1996-1998). Anthony Coffey is an associate member of the National Watercolor Society.
Education
Anthony Coffey received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Boston in 1993, a Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University in 1990, and also completed an Art Foundation Program from the Cardiff School of Art in 1988.
Selected collections
One of his collectors was Artine Artinian, a French literature scholar who donated his art collection of artist self-portraits to the Appalachian Cultural Museum in 1990, including several paintings by Anthony Coffey.
In 2000 Coffey participated in a group exhibition titled "The Darkside" at the CBGB 313 Gallery in New York City.
He later worked on a series of paintings depicting melted money called "BankRoll-MoneyMelt", releasing them publicly in 2009.
In 2010 he participated in "Subtle Arrangements", a group art project curated by Basak Malone at Gelabert Gallery. In 2015 Ward-Nasse Gallery debuted double exhibition 'Travellers Tales,' featuring new artworks by English painter John Harrison and American pop art painter Anthony J. Coffey
Coffey continues to exhibit his paintings in the Ward-Nasse Gallery in SoHo, Manhattan.
