Antappan Ampiyayam

Antappan Ampiyayam (September 3, 1973 - June 3, 2013) was a green activist and the founder of Green Community, a non-profit initiative floated by the eminent environmentalists in Kerala as a coordinating force among the various environment groups in the Kerala. He was the chief organizer of the first Environment Summit of Kerala, which was held in Thiruvananthapuram in 2011. Sugathakumari, an established writer in Malayalam and a renowned environmentalist has described Antappan Ampiyayam as 'a youngster who lived for the Earth' in Anaswaranaaya Harithagaayakan (immortal green activist), a book written on his life and activities.

He was born in Edathua, Kuttanad in Alappuzha district of Kerala state, India and died in a road accident in Thrippunithura in Eranakulam district, Kerala. His official name is Antony George.
