Anoop Singh was born on 6 March 1962 in Sisana village in Haryana. He was coached by Tarachand Pahalwan. Anoop Singh now works as Deputy Superitendent of Police, Haryana. He runs an Akhada for coaching of budding wrestlers in Sisana. He trained two time Olympic medal winner, Sushil Kumar for the Beijing Olympics 2008 and London Olympics 2012, and Yogeshwar Dutt, also a 2012 olympic medal winner. He was awarded State sports award in 1992 by the Haryana Government. Singh is a NIS qualified 'A' grade coach. In 2011 he was selected as a member of the coaching staff at a national wrestling camp. |
