Annette Warren

Annette Warren is an American singer and pianist who was born in Cleveland, Ohio and has been performing for more than 60 years.
Trained in classical music at Juilliard, she unexpectedly earned fame as a sophisticated vocalist in such New York nightclubs as the Bon Soir and Blue Angel. She also appeared in the off-Broadway hit revival of The Threepenny Opera. She is best known for dubbing the singing voice for Ava Gardner in the 1951 MGM film version of Show Boat, delivering memorable versions of Bill and Can't Help Lovin' That Man. She also dubbed the singing voice of Lucille Ball in two films--Sorrowful Jones and Fancy Pants,both co-starring Bob Hope. In one of Hope's other hit comedies, The Paleface, she dubbed the singing voice for Iris Adrian. Warren has been married for more than 50 years to jazz great , with whom she often appears and has recorded several albums. In addition to the soundtrack CD for Show Boat, she has also recorded for ABC-Paramount and Capitol. She has appeared in several one-woman shows and also co-starred in "Voices--Hollywood's Secret Singing Stars" with three other noted film dubbers—India Adams, Betty Wand and Jo Ann Greer.
