Anjali Ramkissoon

Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon is a medical resident from Miami Florida trained in Neurology. She received her medical degree from St. George's University, located in the Carribbean.
A video published on January 19, 2016 involving Anjali Ramkissoon went viral. At the time of the video, Ramkissoon was a fourth year radiology resident. She hired an Uber driver after becoming intoxicated at a bar. When a different Uber drive arrived to take home different passengers, Ramkissoon mistakenly assumed that the driver was there for her. When the Uber driver told her that he would not be driving her, Ramkissoon became aggressive and violent. She forced herself into her car, yelled obscenities at the Uber driver, and began throwing things (including papers and scissors) out of the car. After throwing everything she could find out of the car into the street, Ramkissoon left the scene saying "I guess that's it. Good night." Police arrived a short while later and found Ramkissoon in a taxi cab about to leave. According to the comments of the video, police ordered her to sit, Ramkissoon stood up and started walking away, they then restrained her, and she responded by kicking the police officers. After being placed in the back of a police car, Ramkissoon started crying, became apologetic, and claimed she would lose her medical license if she were arrested. The Uber driver did not press charges; police arranged for Ramkissoon to pay a modest sum to the driver for restitution. She was not arrested.
In response to the video, Jackson Memorial Hospital (where Ramkissoon was working) began an internal investigation. Ramkissoon was immediately placed on administrative leave and removed from all clinical duties. The public began an online campaign to have Ramkissoon's license removed; this campaign included a large amount of racism and sexism.
Shortly after the incident, Ramkissoon stated that she didn't feel she deserved the backlash that she had received, and stated "I'm not sure I deserve what's happening.". Ramkissoon stated that she had hired a lawyer and a public relations firm, but that she wasn't sure it was going to help. Later, Ramkissoon began a publicity tour, and appeared on such venues as Good Morning America. There she stated, "I'm ashamed. I still can't watch the entire video." She blames her actions on her state of mind resulting from being told her father was admitted to a hospital and her boyfriend breaking up with her.
Ramkissoon has a tattoo on her right forearm stating "Though she is but little she is fierce"
