ANT (ANimation Toolkit) is a proprietary video game animation engine created by Electronic Arts. ANT is built on a shared plugin architecture which allows both the tool and the runtime layer to be shared among many EA games, regardless of their similarities. Prior to 2008 it was primarily an engine for animation on Xbox360, PS3, and PC platforms, but now it supports the Wii platform as well. History ANT was created in 2005 as a spin-off of previous technologies by engineers across EA, including EA Canada and EA Tiburon.
