Angelique Sina

In 2014, Sina earned a master of arts in corporate and nonprofit communication from Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University. She is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Stanford University's Latino Entrepreneurship Scaling program.
Career
In 2014, Sina worked as an associate for global markets at the International Finance Corporation. In this role, Sina worked to finance affordable housing projects in developing countries. Art Museum of the Americas, Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Johns Hopkins Council. Angelique is a writer for the Forbes Nonprofit Council and HuffPost. She is active in social impact efforts for Puerto Rico and Africa, and her work in these areas have been covered by interviews in magazines and newspapers
In 2016, she was appointed by the Mayor of Washington, D.C. to serve as a Commissioner in the Mayor's Office of Latino Affairs (MOLA) of the District of Columbia.
Friends of Puerto Rico
Sina founded Friends of Puerto Rico in 2015. It is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit and non-partisan organization based in Washington, D.C. Their mission is described as a focus on social impact, creating opportunities to develop the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico. They have received donations from BB&T, Verizon, and individual donors.
In 2017, Friends of Puerto Rico responded to Hurricane Maria by coordinating national donations to Puerto Rico, providing 300,000 lbs of clothes, food, and supplies flown out of Miami, Florida. The organization also establish a Hurricane Maria Recovery Fund towards rebuilding efforts. The organization has continued to collect donations and help families leave the island in the months after the hurricane.
In 2019, a social impact coffee Café Ama was launched by the organization at an expo in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Sina is president of Cama Ama. by the Hispanic Alliance. She has received the Young Leadership Award at The Washington Center, the Redefining Leadership Award from the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement, and the 2017 Brava Award for her work.
