Andy Mellon

Andy Mellon (born 1976) is a trumpet and piano player based in London.
Career
In 2004 he joined the band Bellowhead as one of the original members.
His work as a composer includes “The Hartlepool Monkey” for Streetwise Opera and “An Axolotl Odyssey” for the Cultural Olympiad, which received its premiere at The Natural History Museum with the author DBC Pierre.
He has recorded on many TV and Film soundtracks including Charlie and Lola, Mike the Knight and and orchestrated the musical scores for the Oscar Nominated animation, This Way Up and the Monty Python film A Liar's Autobiography
He is Musical Director of the British Council project, Shifting Sands.
He was among those nominated for a BASCA composer award in 2011 for "Fables - A film opera".
