Andrew (Andy) Cobb is an American auto racer, and boat racer born in Tampa, Florida. Andy graduated from Land O' Lakes High School in 2005. Cobb began his racing career at age 5 competing in World Karting Association sanctioned events. After climbing through the ranks with drivers such as Troy DeCaire, and Aric Almirola, Cobb took a much different route in racing. Following in his uncle’s footsteps, Cobb began competing in Drag boat racing. After competing regionally for a number of years, and by the age of 15 Cobb began competing in the Outboard Drag Boat Association (ODBA). Cobb became the youngest driver to ever compete in an unlimited outboard series. By 2009 Cobb entered back into Auto racing. Selling the drag boat operation Cobb invested himself into the Late model dirt series. He became a self-sponsored local racer. Cobb quickly climbed the ranks and ventured into the national circuit. With a pick-up truck, and second hand enclosed trailer, the self-sponsored Cobb caught the eye of the internationally recognized country music band The Bellamy Brothers. The Bellamy Brothers, being an international success in country and pop music, knew the prominent following that dirt track racing has. They selected Cobb to represent them on the national racing scene. Cobb, driving the number #111 began to compete at the national level. He displayed team cars at country concerts and races across the United States. By 2010, Cobb gained other local and national sponsors to represent their brand. Cobb gained recognition from Dave Steele as a respectful and clean driver. After success in the dirt late model circuit, Cobb turned to Sprint car racing in 2013. Cobb finished in the top three in championship points during his first year of competition with the Bubba Army 360 Sprint Car Series. In 2014 Cobb partnered with world champion driver Danny Lasoski. With a full-time schedule Cobb competed in the World of Outlaws, All Star Circuit of Champions, American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) and United Sprint Car Series (USCS). After the 2014 season Cobb decided to take a break from auto racing and focus on his full-time job of being a Florida State Law Enforcement Detective working for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Gaining notable success in the field of fraud investigations, Cobb was recognized in 2015 as Criminal Investigator of the Year by Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam. Cobb spends countless hours presenting to civic groups and other functions as an expert in the field of credit card counterfeiting and identity theft.
