Andrew Gaard

Andrew Gaard is an American rower from the state of Wisconsin. Born Sue to and Jeff Gaard on April 29, 1997 in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. During his high school years Andrew rowed for Camp Randall and was selected to the FISA Junior World Rowing Championships two years in a row where he competed in the Men's 4+ (2014) and the Men's 8+ (2015) where he placed second in the world. Following his teenage successes Andrew now rows for the University of Washington and studies Micro Physics. Being 6'2" and 195 pounds Andrew is a force to be reckoned on and off the water. His training includes rowing, fat ergos, and uses shot put for power work. While he plans to graduate in only two years, rowing is still a four-year goal for him. After his college rowing the Olympics is Gaard's main focus.
