Andre Comeau

Andre Comeau (born 1971) is a singer and songwriter of the band River Rouge, who gained notoriety as one of the cast members of The Real World: New York, the first season of MTV's reality television show The Real World.

Biography
Comeau was born in Detroit, Michigan. His early musical influences were Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan.

In early 1990 Comeau's band Reigndance, which included bandmates Constantine Ballard, Dean Fertita, and Bob Nick, moved to the New York area.

After the season, the band changed its name to Makeshift Gleam. They released their third and final album after securing a publishing deal.

In 1998 Comeau moved to Los Angeles and formed a rock band called Milkweed, which teamed Comeau with Jon Mesh, Randy Morris, and Thomas Stewart. The band released one album …For Breakfast.

Going back to his musical influences, Comeau turned to acoustic folk music, and with elements of Milkweed, recorded the self titled, Andre Comeau Band. In 2007, he changed the name of his band to River Rouge.

According to Comeau: "The band-and the sound---is stripped-down. Something simple, yet mature. Traditional instrumentation on every track: acoustic guitar, violin, mandolin, lap-steel, banjo, and harmonica… I wanted to create an organic, warm atmosphere. Luckily, I have great friends who are also fantastic musicians, and they help make all this possible."

The other members of River Rouge include Jon Mesh on mandolin, Randy Morris on acoustic bass, and Sabrina Taylor on vocals. Also featured are Chris Murphy on violin, Craig Ferguson on dobro, Darren Elpant on drums, and the Primo Sisters on backround vocals.

River Rouge’s CD Dark Horse Running will be out in 2008.
