American Policy Center

Founded in 1988 by Tom DeWeese, the American Policy Center (APC) is dedicated to free enterprise and limiting government regulation over business and individuals.
The center was opposed to the SAVE Act 1990 as they believe it will lead to a national identification cards
The center is privately funded and a nonprofit, 501 c (4), tax-exempt foundation.
History and notable events
The center's founder became an activist over thirty years ago upon getting his first paycheck, he looked at the tax taken and said "Who said they could do that?" Thirty years on and the center's major focus is currently on education and property rights
On December 3, 2009 a coalition of both left and right groups posted an open letter to the United States Senate demanding the Federal Reserve be audited before the chairman Ben Bernanke be given a second term. This was they said because "The Federal Reserve took extraordinary actions in the financial crisis, committing trillions of dollars to bolster private institutions, and the letter says that these actions must be reviewed before any decision is made on Bernanke's nomination"
