Amateurlogic is a 'home-grown' IPTV series about Amateur Radio, computers, digital photography and technology . Shows typically last 45 minutes to an hour and include amateur radio and technology related segments. Emails are also read out on air.
Origins
The show was created in 2005 by the Mississippi co-hosts George Thomas, Jimmy Burrell, and Tommy Martin in a small homemade studio in Jackson, Mississippi. They are all Amateur Radio operators. Commencing with episode 13 (June 2007), an Australian Amateur Radio Operator, Peter Berrett (VK3PB) has joined as cohost and segment producer thus giving the show an international feel.
Format and Distribution
AmateurLogic is generally released on a monthly basis in a variety of video formats, available for download from http://www.amateurlogic.tv. The show is also available for viewing on Google Video and Youtube. The show is produced using Panasonic 3ccd cameras.
Notability
Amateurlogic is one of the few, and perhaps the first, IPTV shows produced in several different countries (Australia and the USA). It is also notable in that the show is produced in several different locations at one time using the Internet and Skype to communicate. Commencing with episode 7 Tommy moved to Missouri which meant that the show was now produced across two locations and with the addition of Peter a third location was added.
