Buckeye CableSystem a cable company located in Toledo, Ohio and serves Northwest Ohio and parts of Southeast Michigan. Buckeye CableSystem is a full service cable company including TV, broadband, commercial, and home telephone services. It is owned by Block Communications, alongside The Blade newspaper. INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP / DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGY HomeFinder Channel 100 is a pioneer in Platform Convergence, a process where Internet Protocol Video and Television ( IPTV )are merging to the point that consumers can watch television programs over the internet, without a television tuner, clicking a mouse for additional infomation ~ and/or watch internet video on their television, clicking with remote control to bring up internet content without using an intermediary computer. HomeFinder Channel 100 is leading the real estate marketing and television industries in developing a proprietary technology that allows simultaneous production of a television channel and a web site with real estate search engine. The technology serves Real Estate Buyers, Home Sellers, Realtors, and Allied Trades. It dramatically reducing the cost of producing and delivering television programs and advertising, making television available to market sectors that were previously unable to afford it. The process developed at HomeFinder Channel 100 stands at the forefront of the inevitable convergence of Television and Internet Media platforms. Other early stage Internet Protocol Television Video (IPTV) providers included Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube. Many cable television companies are now exploring IPTV as a method of re-inventing the media landscape. IPTV can deliver web based content to the web connected television. IPTV program delivery costs less than traditional TV delivery, and may eventually eliminate the concept of "channels" as we know them. The range of multimedia or video programming available to a consumer via IPTV can be as limitless as the number of web pages on the World Wide Web. All of this activity is redefining what it means to be a media producer or broadcaster. Additional applications are yet to be announced. HISTORY HomeFinder Channel 100 Was Founded in October of 2007 with the hiring of Lonn Dugan, Real Estate Manager. Launch Promotion began in earnest in March of 2008. The first order was taken on March 31, 2008. The television channel launched on April 17, 2008. In 2009, the television ads were converted to web video and placed on the homefinder100.com real estate search engine. In 2010, the television ads were syndicated to Youtube to enable a proprietary "CURB SEARCH" service that allows a passerby to visit a mobile web site, enter a street address or street name, and view real estate facts, photos, and video ads. "CURB SEARCH" works on Smart Phones or any web video enabled portable device including iPhones, iPod Touch, Blackberry and Android Phones. The service is launched automatically any time a mobile device user visits www.homefinder100.com. A shortcut URL of www.HF100.com was implemented to make it easier for mobile device users to type on small keyboards. IN PLATFORM CONVERGENCE: PIONEERING IN WEB ENABLED TELEVISION PRODUCTION HomeFinder Channel 100 creates television from internet based assets with a minimum of human intervention. Prior to the launch of HomeFinder Channel 100, there does not appear to have been a locally produced, dedicated real estate channel and web site of this type. HomeFinder Channel 100 was designed to carry round-the-clock cable television programming in the form of homes for sale ads placed by Realtors. Other cable television companies have offered similar programming as a Video On Demand service, or have carried real estate programming produced elsewhere, but this effort may be the first web enabled, locally produced 24-hour real estate channel and companion web site offered anywhere in the USA. THE FUTURE Additional innovations are planned for fourth quarter of 2010 and beyond - but none have been publicly announced. WEB LINKS BY RELIABLE SOURCES RE NOTABILITY
