Amador M. Tajanlangit Sr. (30 April 1911 - 9 March 1977) is a Filipino Catholic married layman and a devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Jaro, Iloilo who is a noted candidate for sainthood. Biography Amador M. Tajanlangit, Sr. was born in the town of Miag-ao, Iloilo on April 30, 1911. His parents were Clasico F. Tajanlangit and Maria A. Mueda. He was the eldest of the nine (9) children. He grew up in their hometown and studied his elementary in Miag-ao Elementary School. He had his high school up to college studies in the University of San Agustin. When he was a teenager, he would organize a makeshift movie house where he gathered people to watch religious films such as the lives of the saints and accounts of apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. As a Marian devotee, Tajanglangit initiated the “Dawn Rosary,” which was aired daily over the radio from 4:00 to 5:00 a.m. He also instructed and encouraged people to go to mass and he produced and distributed plenty of religious materials such as Catholic prayer books, novenas and rosaries to far-flung areas within the region to increase the people's faith and devotion. He also made use of his ventriloquist skills by imitating the sounds of animals, birds, and insects to gain attention and be able to gather people for catechism sessions. He also used to gather a local seed taken from their backyard and made them into rosaries and give them away to anyone. His zeal to make known the Blessed Mother to anyone is so outstanding that from childhood up to his last breath, he would always make people understand the importance of praying the Holy Rosary and devotion to Her. He always had ready rosaries to give away when needed. During the 2nd World War, Amador asked the Blessed Mother a favor that should he and the whole family survive this war, he would dedicate himself to serve God and the Blessed Mother. True to his promise, he began to enter into the apostolic work. After he got married to Angeles O. Ledesma, he settled in Jaro and had five children with her. He entered into the apostolic work in the Bahrangay sang Virhen. After visiting Lipa, Batangas, it was observed that his passion to make the Blessed Mother known and to make people pray the Holy Rosary increased. When he knew that the Blessed Mother mentioned in that apparition that the message in Fatima is similar to that of the messages in Lipa, Batangas, he decided to be more aggressive and more passionate in propagating the Fatima messages and preparing the people of the coming events foretold by our Mother in Fatima and La Salette because these two are all approved apparitions already. Tajanglangit died on March 9, 1977, at the age of 65 due to heart failures. Call for Canonization On August 2014, during the Year of the Laity declared by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines, Most Rev. Archbp. Angel Lagdameo of Jaro together with The Friends of Amador M. Tajanlangit Sr. (FAMTSr) and director of the Jaro Archdiocesan Commission on the Laity, Father Joenick Territorio, formally opened his cause for beatification earning him the title within the Catholic Church as "Servant of God."
