Amado Casillas

Amado Casillas also known as Amado Leal "El Águila Azul" is a fictional character on the Telemundo television series El Señor de los Cielos, created by Luis Zelkowicz. The role was portrayed by Matías Novoa from the season six of the series in 2018 until the end of the seventh season in 2020. In season seven, he becomes the new protagonist of the series as Rafael Amaya, who plays Aurelio Casillas, departs from the series.
Storylines
Original series (2013-2018)
Season 6
In season six, Amado Leal first appears as he assassinates a CIA agent. He becomes wanted by the United States government, and is forced to escape to Mexico. He met with Corina Saldaña (Karla Carrillo), an ex-partner in the CIA, in which he learns that Aurelio was deeply wounded by El Cabo. With the help of Corina, they found Aurelio already in a coma inside a gymnasium in Tepito, and is later revealed that Amado is the lost half-brother of Aurelio. They were soon ambushed by El Cabo and his men, and Amado and Corina successfully fought them off. In the midst of this tension and in parallel, Aurelio was brought to a safe house by his men. While Aurelio remained in coma, Amado temporarily took over the Casillas cartel in his absence.
Season 7
In season seven, to avoid falling into the hands of the American justice, Amado Leal "El Águila Azul", now Amado Casillas, has turned himself in to Bernardo Castillo (José Sedek), Secretary of Security of Mexico. The DEA commissioner, Joe Navarro (Guy Ecker), has made every attempt to achieve his extradition. What he does not know is that Baltazar Ojeda (Eduardo Santamarina), a CIA agent, has the plan to eliminate Amado before, since he is the only one who can prove that within the organization in which both worked together, there is a scheme of corruption and murky management that endangers its existence within it and its freedom. He has already been transferred to a jail on the outskirts of the State of Mexico and is about to be taken to the airport, under strict security measures when the Casillas cartel tries to rescue him and Baltazar Ojeda himself tries to kill him. In the midst of this tension and in parallel, under the supervision of Doña Alba (Lisa Owen) and a specialized doctor, they try a risky procedure to revive Aurelio (Rafael Amaya).
