AlphaSense

AlphaSense Inc. is a New York City-based software company that develops an artificial intelligence-based search engine to sort and analyze public and private financial data. The company was valued as a tech unicorn in June 2022. The round was led by Quantum Strategic Partners, an arm of Soros Fund Management, and venture capital firm Tribeca Venture Partners.
In February 2017, Fortune magazine recognized AlphaSense as one of 50 best funded companies leading the AI revolution.
In June 2019, the company released a sentiment analysis tool that analyzed documents to determine the tenor of their language.
In July, the company raised $50 million in a Series B, led by Innovation Endeavors, a venture capital firm backed by Google's former CEO Eric Schmidt.
In September 2021, the company raised $180 million in a Series C led by Goldman Sachs.
In May 2022, AlphaSense acquired competitor Sentieo. In June, the company announced a $225 million funding round led by Goldman Sachs and Viking Global Investors, reportedly valuing the company at $1.7 billion.
Companies use the software to monitor competitors and acquisition targets. The company's technology also analyzes documents for sentiment, providing a score that traders can use to make investment decisions.<ref name=fortune1/>
