“Alpha” manufactures consumable electronic assembly materials for the global electronic assembly and photovoltaic markets. It is a business unit of the Cookson Electronics Division of Cookson, plc which is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
History
Alpha, originally known as Alpha Metals, was founded in the United States in 1872, and initially metals, solder and related products. It was acquired by Cooskon, plc in 1984, and became part of Cookson Electronics Division
in 1994. Its ALPHA® product line covers the following materials utilized in surface mount and wave soldering electronic assembly processes: solder paste, stencils, wave solder alloys and fluxes, solder spheres, wire and preforms, cleaners and adhesives, semiconductor packaging materials and interconnect materials for the photovoltaic market.
Operations
Alpha operates manufacturing facilities globally and has dedicated Research & Development facilities in the USA, India, Japan and Singapore.
